Point of Sale (POS)
The POS is a separate, dedicated till app built for busy counters — a fast, tile-based screen where cashiers ring up sales with a tap. It's ideal for shops, bars, restaurants and pharmacies. To enter sales one at a time from a form instead, use Record a Sale.

What the POS is
The POS turns any phone, tablet or computer into a point-of-sale terminal. Cashiers sign in with a PIN, ring up sales by tapping product tiles, and every transaction flows into the same PesaScope account as your web app — so stock, reports and cash balances stay accurate with no double entry.
Get the POS app
- Install PesaScope from Google Play or the App Store on the device you'll use at the counter.
- Sign in with your PesaScope account.
- Choose the branch this terminal is selling for.
Set up cashiers & PINs
An owner or manager enables the till and adds cashiers under Settings & Management → POS settings.
- Add each cashier as an employee and turn on their POS access.
- Give each cashier a 4-digit PIN.
- Optionally set whether cashiers can give discounts, refund, or reopen tabs.
PIN login & shifts
- At the till, the cashier taps their name and enters their PIN. This opens a shift automatically.
- All sales for the session are tied to that shift and that cashier.
- At the end, tap Close shift to cash up.
Ring up a sale
- Tap a product tile to add it to the cart; tap again for another, or tap the cart line to change quantity.
- Switch to the Services tab to add a service the same way.
- Use the search bar to find an item quickly.
- Tap Pay, choose the payment method, take the money and Confirm.
- The receipt prints automatically (if enabled) or is offered to share by WhatsApp / download.
Open tabs
Need to hold an order open — a table still ordering, or a customer paying later in the visit? Save it as a tab. Open tabs are listed together so any cashier can reopen one, add items, and take payment when the customer is ready.
Quick sale
When you just need speed, Quick Sale rings up items and takes payment in a single step — no tab, no extra screens.
Works offline
Lost your internet? The POS keeps working. Sales are saved on the device and sync automatically to your account once you're back online, so a network drop never stops the queue.
End-of-day & cash up
Closing a shift gives you totals for the session with a breakdown by payment method and by cashier, so you can reconcile the drawer. The POS also shows a daily summary of orders and revenue.
